In 2010, Cornell surveyed nearly 500 hotel revenue managers about the future of the discipline. The consensus: revenue management would grow beyond the room. Total revenue, not just RevPAR. Profit, not just occupancy. Every revenue stream in the building, understood together.

In 2017, Cornell asked again. The honest answer came back: still a work in progress. But belief had surged. Nearly two thirds of revenue leaders said total revenue management was coming. One respondent described the future as a commercial department, where sales, marketing, and revenue finally stop optimizing in silos.

Fast forward to 2025. Industry surveys found nearly half of hoteliers still couldn't access the data they needed to make decisions. The top obstacle, after all these years: disconnected systems. PMS, POS, CRM, channel manager, marketing platforms, each holding its own partial truth.

The industry was never wrong about what it needed. It was early. Unifying ten systems, cleaning the data, and answering real commercial questions across marketing, revenue, and sales took either an army of analysts or technology that didn't exist.

It exists now. What Cornell predicted in 2010, what the sharpest voices in this industry have been asking for ever since, is finally buildable. Not a dashboard. An analyst. One that sees the whole building.

Sixteen years is a long time to wait for an answer you already knew.

It's about time.
